Flying to Norway
Today we flew to Norway to visit my sister again. We left a grey and wet UK and landed an hour and a half later in sunny Bergen thanks to the tail wind.

My first trip to the Barbers shop (Alfred age 5)
Mummy said she would cut my hair. We watched a YouTube video of the style I liked (the "slick rick" haircut). It looked easy. I sat very still and mummy got the clippers out (just like the video said to) and began...but mummy kept pausing and rewinding the video tutorial...and I was getting fed-up.
Finally mummy confessed she couldn't quite make my hair look like the video style and said she'd better stop there - and would take me to the barbers the next day to "fix" it!
The next day mummy telephoned a nearby barbers shop called "Sirs Only". They said no appointment needed - just turn up. So that is what we did. Mummy had to explain she couldn't get my hair right herself. We showed the barber a photo of how I would like my hair to look.
Luckily the barber knows how to cut hair properly. She said she'd had a lot of practice cutting hair before and a short while later I was ready to leave the shop looking like this:
I will definitely go back to the barbers when I need a trim. The barber is nice and my haircut only cost a fiver!

The Wishing Woods
This weeks walk took us to The Wishing Woods. We set off from the carpark of The Horse & Jockey pub near Curdridge into the woods. Following alongside the estuary the paths were all muddy as expected after the long and wet winter. The blue bells were just beginning to flower along with celandines and daffodils too.
There is also a magic fairy tree - which has been here a great many years.
You can write a letter to the fairies and put it into the letterbox. The fairies will write you a reply which you must collect!
Further on along the walk there is a field in which you can picnic or play - and the Estury with swans and other wildlife to watch. It's a very tranquil place.
You can see here some older trees have fallen but the woods are still beautiful and it's a lovely walk.

Feeling Proud!
Gabrielle has bought her first car using her hard-earned savings.
It's a Vauxhall Astra
Congratulations also for passing your theory test recently Gabrielle - I'm sure it won't be too long before you are ready for the practical test.

Holly Hill Woods to Swanwick Solent Estury Walk
Today I did another lovely walk from Holly Hill Woods to the Solent Estury at Swanwick and up to Warsash and back with Jane.
Jane is a good friend and she grew up locally, so Jane knows a lot of very good walks!
The weather was beautiful. We saw plenty of wildlife including deer again. We were mesmerised by a soaring buzzard early in the walk and also saw a woodpecker busy doing what woodpeckers do.
Here are some pictures (again pictures are clickable if you'd like to see the full resolution version):

Lily's 12th Birthday
Today Lily celebrated her 12th birthday. She had some school friends come to dinner and they all played Minecraft as that is their favourite thing to do.
Here are a few pictures from her special day:

Whiteley Pastures Walk
My friend Jane and I did a nice long walk from Locks Heath to Whiteley Pasteurs today. The ground is still very soggy following a long wet winter and this combined with many storms and high winds has seen a lot of trees fall. A lot of the pathways were blocked by fallen trees so it was quite an interesting trek climbing, crawling and finding new routes along our way.
We did see some Roe deer too - but they were too fast for me to photograph!

Warsash to Warsash Spit Walk
Today Jane and I did a lovely walk from Warsash up to Warsash Spit and back through the woods. It was nice to see the sunshine and some spring flowers. Here are a few photos I took along the way.
